How to Break Up with Your Accumulation Advisor
Welcome to D Bryant Retirement
Strategies, LLC. We’re so glad that you’ve decided to work with us
during this season of your life. Retirement can be one of the most
enjoyable seasons or one of the most nerve-wracking, and your finances
play a big role in that.
We are here to help you manage your
finances in retirement so that you can relax and savor every moment,
instead of worrying about running out of money or long-term care. We go
beyond just investments to help you plan every aspect of a successful
retirement.
Before coming to us, you may have been
working with another financial advisor. There are a lot of great
advisors out there that can help you build wealth and accumulate
savings. They did a good job getting you to this point, and you
compensated them well for it.
But this new season of life requires a
different kind of financial management. No longer are you working,
saving and investing. It is an entirely different landscape that you
face now. Your current concerns are related to Social Security, income
planning, planning for beneficiaries, long-term care, etc. You need a retirement advisor.
And that’s why you’ve come to us. It’s
critical to work with a retirement strategist as you move into
retirement, someone who can look at the entire retirement picture and
understands the details intimately. Here at D Bryant Retirement
Strategies, LLC, we focus solely on retirement planning.
Unfortunately, many advisors think
they can do everything and don’t master any particular area. They are
generalists rather than studying one area of your financial life cycle
intensively. Your old advisor may be this way. When you begin to move
your accounts, they may give you a call and want to know what’s going
on.
You may feel that breaking up with
your old financial advisor can be just as difficult as breaking up with
your first boyfriend or girlfriend in high school. It will probably be
even harder since the high schooler you left was not a trained
salesperson. They may want to know why. They might want to know if they
did something wrong. Then they will try to win you back.
